Work

I approach every project with a focus on collaboration, iteration, and real impact. Here's a look at some of the work I've done with mission-driven organizations.

ReadyNow! →

Empowering immigrants during arrest to quickly get security notifications, emergency contacts and legal aid with one-click.

Problem / Context

When someone is arrested, time is critical. They need to notify family, contact legal aid, and access emergency resources—all while under extreme stress and time pressure. Traditional methods of getting help are too slow and complicated when minutes matter.

What We Built

ReadyNow! is a rapid-response tool that lets users trigger emergency workflows with a single click. The system immediately sends security notifications to trusted contacts, connects users with legal aid resources, and activates support networks—all designed to work in high-stress situations where clarity and speed are essential.

Technology / Approach

Built with modern web technologies optimized for mobile use, with a focus on one-click activation, reliable delivery, and clear user flows that work even under duress. The system integrates with communication platforms and legal aid networks to ensure help arrives quickly.

Impact / Outcome

ReadyNow! provides a critical safety net for immigrants facing arrest, reducing the time between crisis and support. The tool demonstrates how justice tech can create immediate, tangible impact in moments when people need help most.

FreeWorld Student Portal →

Modern portal and tech ecosystem supporting formerly incarcerated students through training, job placement, and ongoing support.

Problem / Context

FreeWorld helps formerly incarcerated individuals access training, job opportunities, and support services. They needed a comprehensive platform that could manage student data, track progress through programs, connect students with employers, and support staff in delivering services effectively.

What We Built

A modern student portal and internal tool ecosystem that serves both students and staff. Students can access training materials, track their progress, connect with job opportunities, and manage their support services. Staff have dashboards for case management, outcome tracking, and reporting—all designed to reduce administrative burden and focus energy on direct service.

Technology / Approach

Built with React and Next.js, with a focus on data management, user experience, and scalability. The system handles complex workflows around student enrollment, program completion, job matching, and outcome tracking—turning what used to be spreadsheets and manual processes into a cohesive platform.

Impact / Outcome

The portal streamlines operations for FreeWorld's team, allowing them to serve more students more effectively. It provides students with a clear path through training and job placement, and gives the organization the data infrastructure needed to demonstrate impact to funders and partners.

HRF Legislative Tracker: Democracy Watch

This tool exposes legislative trends that restrict civil and human rights and undermine our democratic processes and institutions. It was designed to help advocates, journalists, and concerned citizens monitor and respond to legislation that impacts our communities and restricts our rights.

Problem / Context

Legislative data is complex, scattered, and hard to analyze at scale. Advocates and journalists need to understand trends, identify threats to civil rights, and respond quickly—but traditional methods of tracking legislation are time-consuming and don't reveal patterns across states or over time.

What We Built

Democracy Watch is a legislative tracking and analysis tool that aggregates data from multiple sources, categorizes bills by their impact on civil and human rights, and visualizes trends in ways that make complex policy data actionable. The tool helps users identify patterns, track specific types of legislation, and understand the broader landscape of threats to democratic institutions.

Technology / Approach

Built with modern data processing and visualization technologies, integrating multiple legislative data sources and applying categorization and analysis to surface insights. The interface is designed for both quick scanning and deep analysis, serving advocates who need to act fast and researchers who need comprehensive data.

Impact / Outcome

Democracy Watch provides transparency into legislative trends that would otherwise be difficult to track. It empowers advocates and journalists to respond more quickly to threats, understand the scope of challenges to civil rights, and make data-driven arguments about the state of our democracy. The tool demonstrates how policy tech can turn complex data into actionable insight for civic engagement.
